The new “object callbacks” feature also allows plugins to be called whenever data is loaded or stored, and this enables a realm of possibilities for data manipulation and notification, limited only by the developer’s imagination. And the existing power of plugins is maintained in version 3.0, where almost all existing plugins will continue to work without modification.

Ever since plugins were introduced in 2002, Movable Type has attracted a strong community of developers, who together have created over 120 plugins that add to the power of Movable Type. The imagination and productivity of this community have been truly inspiring.
